The Academy offers a unique learning environment and is not just a ‘dancing school’ – it is a place where everyone involved is focused on the happiness and development of all students through dance education, experiences and opportunities whilst building the foundations of friendship, confidence and a bright future.

The Academy has classes, programs and opportunities for the beginner and/or hobby student through to the elite aspiring dancer.

In 2019 The Academy was the Winner of the Commerce Ballarat Federation Business School Creative Industries Business Excellence Award and was also a Finalist the previous year.

The Academy’s teaching faculty provides a harmonious blend of youth, enthusiasm, experience and dedication which collaborate to ensure every student is nurtured and provided a quality level of training. Faculty members include professional dancers and highly qualified and experienced artists.

Teacher's Experience
Tyra moved to Ballarat in 2019 to study a Bachelor of Performing Arts at the Federation University Arts Academy. She is originally from Mount Beauty – a small country town. Tyra has always had a passion for performance and has been dancing since the age of 3. She has experience in classical ballet, jazz, musical theatre, song and dance, contemporary and hip-hop. Tyra has completed jazz and ballet examinations with both CSTD and ATOD. She was involved in competitive dance for 10 years. Tyra has been teaching since 2016. She has choreographed group numbers and solos for competitions and concerts. She has also prepared students of all ages for examinations and conducted multiple workshops. She has always loved sharing her knowledge and passion of dance with others. Tyra also has a love for music. She has completed her Grade 8 AMEB violin exam and Grade 8 AMEB Musical Theatre. She completed her year 12 VCE Dance in 2017 and is currently completing her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. For all her achievements in the performing arts world, she was awarded with the Alpine Shire Performing Arts Award in both 2014 and 2018.
