Townsville and the district were truly blessed when Robyn and husband Doug Gilchrist created the Croft Gilchrist School Of Dancing. From the central location all lovers of dance, from tiny tots, teenagers and even adults could learn professional dance skills from the principal of the school, Robyn Croft, a foundation member of the Australian Ballet and dancer in the Royal Ballet.
Robyn has enjoyed the privilege of helping many others develop the extra confidence, poise and better co-ordination using the art of dance.
Many of her students have made a career out of their developed skills. Many others have used these talents in associated fields and others have just simply enjoyed their new found creativity as part of a richly rewarded lifestyle. Robyn Croft has a passion for dance and this is melded into all of her students – either the young or young at heart.
Song and Dance for the younger student. Learn to sing with and put movement to song with our highly trained Teachers. We work with age appropriate songs from famous “Musicals” and “Disney” related movies.
This traditional artistic sport has left a mark globally & all students are thoroughly trained to the VSDA Examination Syllabus & the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing competitive work.
Acrobatic Dance, or acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements.
Here all of the school's students are taught interactive skills and techniques of the ADA syllabus. Consider the many benefits you’ll enjoy when the art of dance creates added poise, co-ordination along with a higher level of confidence and self-esteem.
All students are trained using the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus which includes character. All graded and vocational graded levels are taught.
