The purpose of the qualification is to provide learners, education and training providers and employers with the standards and the range of learning required to work effectively in various industries making use of Welding Application and Practices skills and to meet the challenges of the welding industry and related environments.

 

Admission Requirements:

Learners registering for this qualification should already have achieved a General Education and Training Certificate at NQF Level 1 or Grade 12.

If the learner does not already have such a qualification, learning in preparation for this qualification should include:

  • Literacy and numeracy at NQF Level 1.
  • Basic concepts of engineering science and technology at NQF Level 1.
