The National Lifeguard course is the last course in the Lifeguard stream required at pools across Canada. This course will ensure that candidates leave with a solid understanding of lifeguard principles, communication techniques and develop solid judgement skills for emergency procedures.

Candidates focus on team-work skills throughout the course and learn how to adapt to different aquatic facilities.

Standard First Aid certification are only accepted from the following agencies: Canadian Red Cross (all LIT Courses are Red Cross), St. John's Ambulance, Lifesaving Society, Heart and Stroke of Canada, Canadian Ski Patrol
Prerequisites
15 years old by last day of the course, Bronze Cross, 14 hour Standard First Aid (from one of Canadian Red Cross, St. John's Ambulance, Lifesaving Society, Heart and Stroke of Canada, Canadian Ski Patrol)

Swift Water Rescue Technician is an Emergency Services Training course. Trainees develop an advanced understanding of swift water hazards and rescue techniques from the “hot zone” (on moving water). This course is aimed at those who may be called on to perform a water-based rescue.
The complex offers a wide range of different programs for fun, stimulating activities, chosen to meet the needs and desires of all age groups.
National Lifeguard is a nationally recognized Lifeguard certification program. National Lifeguard is a legal certificate for lifeguarding throughout the country, and one of the only lifeguard certificate recognized by the province of Ontario.
Lifeguard course is offered by Lifesaving Society. The Lifesaving Society is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote safe interactions with water to prevent drowning and other injuries.
The National Lifeguard course emphasizes the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes which will assist the lifeguard to provide effective safety supervision in swimming pool environments.
