The NEBOSH General Certificate is taken by delegates from a vast range of backgrounds who are already in, or looking for, a career in the health and safety sector.
Anyone can enrol on the NEBOSH Certificate programme as no previous health and safety knowledge is required. Delegates will be required to write short reports as part of the training and exam.
Successful delegates will be awarded the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety on completion of the course. The NEBOSH Certificate is accepted by IOSH – the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – in meeting the academic requirements for Technician Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH).
It is also accepted by The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) for associate membership.

Element 6 – Fire Safety
Element 7 – Chemical and biological health hazards and risk control
Element 8 – Physical and psychological health hazards and risk control
Health and Safety Practical Application
The course attendee must carry out a practical assessment of a workplace and prepare a management report.

10 Days Classroom + Practical + Exam
Assessment
There are two assessments to complete at the end of this NEBOSH course.
A two hour written paper
A practical risk assessment
NEBOSH’s external examiners will mark the assessments. Students are notified of their results 11 weeks after the exams.
You are responsible for submitting your assessments within agreed timescales. If you don’t meet these deadlines, you risk failing the course.
