Arm yourself with the tools to become a leader in the hospitality industry by understanding the values, practices and quality systems that define successful hospitality businesses.

Develop key skills by learning how to analyse and evaluate hospitality and tourism operating environments, sustainable destination management (kaitiakitanga) options, and how to effectively apply staffing strategies to create a flow of positive staff relationships and a well-run team.

You will also learn how to manage the customer experience, and how the concepts of kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga can be applied to your industry, allowing you to create distinctly New Zealand experiences.

In conjunction with our on-campus restaurant, Rata Room, you will experience how to plan and execute effective events and promotional campaigns in the digital age.

You will also be able to incorporate knowledge of global food and beverage trends to achieve expected revenue targets and comply with regulations including health and safety.

Upon graduating you will be able to work in a supervisory role in a range of hospitality establishments and will be able to monitor and maintain operating procedures and communicate effectively across cultures to enhance business objectives and exceed guest experiences.
