Coaching and mentoring can be highly productive forms of professional learning. Unfortunately, this is only sometimes the case, so a critical purpose of this course is to understand how to realise the potential of coaching and mentoring to make a difference where it matters most–for students.
Traditional workplace coaching can be effective, but often with limited success. This is because the coach, whether internal or external, only focuses on the work environment, without addressing fundamental issues unique to the individual.
