In Introduction to Drawing at the AMUA, we will be utilizing the formal principles of design to learn how to draw. The first half of the semester, we will use only black, gray and white; and in the second, we will begin to use color.
In this 10-week class, we will focus on color as the primary element in abstract expression. Using examples of prominent color field painters from the mid 20th Century to the present, we will examine the use of color in terms of its emotional and spiritual content.
Creative Art class offers unique activities that include: Drawing & Painting, Mixed Media, Clay, Crafts, Recycle Art, Sewing, and a lot more! We have unique monthly themed classes specially designed for this class.
A sound knowledge of drawing is the foundation for success as a visual artist. Basic principles of drawing will be taught including line, light, shade and composition.
