Interested in making your own garments and want to know the basics? In this course, learn the techniques of pattern cutting and how to draft a simple item of clothing from your own measurements.
This course will introduce students to the simple techniques of pattern cutting. You will learn key terminology and how to draft a simple skirt from your own measurements. You’ll test your pattern using basic cotton and learn how to assess fit and make adjustments.
The tutor will give step by step demonstrations and guide you through the process. You will be encouraged to work independently and be provided additional support when needed.

On completion of this course you can expect to have your correct measurements to make skirts with step-by-step handouts and have a full scale pattern to work from. You should feel more confident about pattern cutting and sewing clothing to a specific size.
