Course Details

Working with store-bought patterns can be frustrating because they are created using standardized measurements much like ready-to-wear fashion. Creating your own pattern will give you the ability to create garments that will fit you perfectly. The pattern we will create in this workshop is a basic pattern that you can add to or make simple changes to in order to create a wide range of different garments!

What you will learn:

  • How to take your own measurements
  • Mark and draft your own pattern for a dress, shirt, and tunic
  • How to construct your muslin for a test fit

What to Expect:

  • This class is a 12 hour workshop over one weekend
  • Friday Night 3 hours…..6 to 9pm
  • Saturday afternoon 4 hours…..4 to 8pm
  • Sunday afternoon 5 hours….12 to 5pm

Important information:

  • Registration deadline is October 9th
  • In order for, the class to make we must have 3 people signed up.  We will notify you by the Monday before the class if we will not be holding it.
  • This class is for ages 16 and up
  • All Pattern drafting supplies will be provided.
  • Muslin will be required for the test fit garment.  You may purchase your own or from us.
  • You must have good working knowledge of sewing and garment construction.
  • Sign up is required and you can do so online or by calling us at the studio.
  • All current sewing club members will receive a discount so please contact us to register if you are a current sewing club member.
