Level I
In this first course the student will learn the main Concepts and Principles of Patternmaking. Also, you will learn to analyze the design and draft the plan of action to do the style chosen. You will learn he basic Patternmaking Principles and Techniques you will use in the development of Patterns at any level of complexity.
You will make your personal primary blocks: skirt, bodice, and sleeve. After that, and using the Patternmaking tools learned, you will be able to use your blocks to make the garments you see on magazines, almost all the skirts ,most of the tops with different looks, collars, sleeves or sleeveless.
To reality
It is a professional practice to make patterns in half size in order to see the outcome of the style and behaviour of the fabric before doing in real size. This is the Madame Vionnett Method , the first Couturier and Patternmaker in history. This course is offered three to four times per year.
Ana is a former Industrial Engineer with post degrees in Productivity and Management, who later graduated as a Fashion Designer, majoring in Patternmaking , Grading and Garment technology. Later she became a VET trainer.

Not confident about your machine? Then come and learn how to use it. Eg: altering tensions; using different stitches and feet. Gain the confidence you will need to make a garment. BYO sewing machine with foot control and power cord to class, and all materials.
These classes, instructed by Helena Kinnunen, are an introduction to upholstery sewing during which time students will make or recover their own cushions. It is suitable for beginner to intermediate skill level.
We offer patchwork one on one lessons from our home studio. All you need to do is bring your fabric, and we supply the rest.
You are welcome to bring in your cut garments ready to sew. If you need help reading a pattern & cutting it out we can cover that too. Bring in your own domestic sewing machine to the class and start learning & improving now!
This is a fun quilt to make if you enjoy playing with color. Each leaf can be as individual as you want to create it. Again, this would be a good candidate for those who have a stash that needs using. Some experience necessary.
