Level I
In this first course the student will learn the main Concepts and Principles of Patternmaking. Also, you will learn to analyze the design and draft the plan of action to do the style chosen. You will learn he basic Patternmaking Principles and Techniques you will use in the development of Patterns at any level of complexity.
You will make your personal primary blocks: skirt, bodice, and sleeve. After that, and using the Patternmaking tools learned, you will be able to use your blocks to make the garments you see on magazines, almost all the skirts ,most of the tops with different looks, collars, sleeves or sleeveless.
To reality
It is a professional practice to make patterns in half size in order to see the outcome of the style and behaviour of the fabric before doing in real size. This is the Madame Vionnett Method , the first Couturier and Patternmaker in history. This course is offered three to four times per year.
Ana is a former Industrial Engineer with post degrees in Productivity and Management, who later graduated as a Fashion Designer, majoring in Patternmaking , Grading and Garment technology. Later she became a VET trainer.

This overlocker class is conducted as a one day workshop. During the course you will learn how to use your overlocker correctly and various applications. You’ll be surprised by what you can do with an overlocker. For this class you will need to bring your own overlocker.
Builds skills to work as an assistant fashion stylist, assistant fashion consultant and junior fashion wardrobe dresser, being able to apply basic fashion styling and design industry knowledge, evaluate the nature of a fashion stylist in the fashion and media industry.
Come and join Fiona for a fun filled morning (9.30 – 12.30). “Kawandi” is a fun, relaxing project that is perfect to use up your fabric scraps.We can provide a fabric pack for an additional cost. TBA
