Getting Started
Established by the government of British Columbia in 1981, Kwantlen, now Kwantlen Polytechnic University, has five campuses located in the Metro Vancouver region of British Columbia. KPU offers bachelor's degrees, associate degrees, diplomas, certificates and citations in more than 140 programs. Almost 20,000 students annually attend courses at KPU campuses in Surrey, Richmond, Langley, Cloverdale, and Civic Plaza.

Examine the basic principles and operations of autocad including: the autocad interface and workspaces; autocad 2-d drawing, editing and viewing commands and concepts; layers, colours, lineweights and linetypes; creating text, dimensioning and hatching; using blocks and basic plotting.
Courses in each level are hands-on and project oriented with a step-by-step approach to learning autocad. Students will practice their autocad skills using exercises that are taken from a variety of industries where autocad is used.
This program teaches you how to use autocad to create and modify mechanical designs and production drawings. By the end of the program, you’ll be able to navigate the autocad interface and use its main features effectively.
