Course Aim

  • To certify the participant as competent applicant signatory to apply for a Permit to Work (PTW).

 

Intended Learning Outcome

  • Competence in applying for and filling out the PTW form correctly.

 

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the participants should be able to:

  • Understand worksite hazards and

  • Carry out Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)

  • Understand the purposes of PTW & its requirement

  • Describe roles & responsibilities of the respective signatories involved in PTW system

  • Fill PTW form correctly

  • Demonstrate skill in PTW processes: Application, Suspension validation, and handback.

  • Conduct toolbox talk.

 

Target Groups

  • Company staffs or contractors personnel that are required to apply for PTW to carry out their tasks.

 

Course Methodology

  • This course will be presented in English. Course delivery format will be a combination of lecture, syndicate exercises, participants’ presentation and written assessments.

  • Measurement of learning shall be through written test (knowledge) and through demonstration of performance during classroom activity and role play (competence).

 

Pre-Requisite

  • Able to understand and write simple English.

  • Able to identify and document hazards and control measures associated to work.

  • Sufficient working experience (minimum 6 months and above) in their respective fields in order to have a holistic understanding of the significance of PTW in hazardous worksite.
