The goal of the Personal Support Worker Program is to help individuals master the required personal and occupational qualities needed to care for people living at home and in long-term care facilities.
Students will learn to identify and respond to the physical and emotional needs of clients/consumers. Promoting physical and mental activation, observing and communicating with the client, handling specialized equipment, providing complete personal and physical care are all basic skills which will be developed throughout this program.

The responsibilities of the Personal Support Worker includes: assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, household management, meal preparation, ongoing medical conditions and medications, documentation procedures and vital signs.
The Personal Support Worker will also be skilled in cognitive impairment and mental health issues, as well as providing optimal support and care planning.
