Course Details

Our 5-8 Year Piano Prep program primes students on the fundametals needed to continue onto our Piano program. Students build skills in the following areas:

 

Ukulele 

  • Develop their ukulele and singing skills 
  • Teaching the children more advanced level performing as well as the practice and actual performance experience.
  • Working on ensemble playing, technique, developing fine motor skills, and musicality.

 

Singing

  • Introducing Solfege and Pitch Matching to develop their understanding of relative pitch.
  • Encourage students to find their voice and expand their singing abilities and control.

 

Xylophone

  • Learning to play the Xylophone helps them begin to understand visual cues and colour coding that can translate directly onto the Piano.
  • Help students begin to develop coordination.

 

Music Theory & Reading

  • We work on a range of exercises focussed on helping children read, write and understand the principles of written music.

 

Orchestral Activity

  • Exposing children to orchestral music and a variety of other unique forms of music they usually would not be exposed to. This helps them develop the ability to hear different timbres, and qualities and characteristics of instruments.

With having over 9 years of undergoing private piano tuition, achieving high distinctions in her ANZCA exams and just completing her HSC music course, Jess has endured much experience within her musical Journey. She has also been entertaining the community at Lindsay Gardens Aged Care Facility with Macquarie Hills Music’s annual Christmas concert for many years – and wishes to continue sharing and teaching the joy of music to her wonderful students through the ‘Simply Music’ program.
