Mechanical Skills, Inc. is a non-profit apprenticeship training program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship Training and the Indiana Plumbing Commission. It is the mission of Mechanical Skills, Inc. to train apprentices that will be able to exercise independent judgment, understand the theory underlying their work, and be knowledgeable of the laws and regulations applicable to their trade.
What We Do
Mechanical Skills, Inc. provides a high quality 4-year training program. The curriculum is written by a team of contractors, educators, and code and industry experts. The instructors are contractors who have had real-world experience combined with instructor facilitation training. In 2010, Mechanical Skills instructor, Paul Hallam, was named CONTRACTOR magazines national “Plumbing Instructor of the Year.
This course trains for a career in plumbing. You will learn specialized plumbing skills and terminology for residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems. In addition, this course teaches the math, geometry, and physical principles needed to work on plumbing systems.
Plumbing Training is offered by ForgeNow. As a Plumber, you will be the front line of keeping water flowing. In just seven weeks, you will learn the skills to work as a Plumber.
A plumber, who works in the trades industry, specializes in the maintenance, installation, repair, and replacement of plumbing systems used for the distribution of water and the removal of waste and sewage in buildings.
If you are a strong problem-solver that is often asked for help with fixing mechanical issues, a career in plumbing may be the perfect fit for you. Plumbers do much more than fixing sinks and toilets in residential homes.
The Basic Certificate program in Plumbing and Fire Protection program is designed to introduce students to plumbing and sprinkler systems through theory and hands on work. Upon successful completion, graduates will be qualified to work as a plumber’s assistant and or fitter assistant.
