Course Details

Previous ballet experience and show the developmental skills and abilities is required to enrol. Pre-pointe classes are offered to ballet students who are not yet en pointe but show interest and potential.

This class will further develop skills and strengthen the necessary muscles and technique to pursue enrolling in future pointe classes. Dancers must be enrolled in Ballet to accompany their pointe/pre-pointe class.Classes run all dance year-long for 45 minutes a week, with a year-end recital routine.

  • Miss Jessica is from Nipawin, SK where she trained at the Nipawin School of Dance, starting at the young age of 4 in the genres of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, pointe, and hip-hop. Miss Jessica has successfully completed all CDTA Tap and Jazz exams as well as all RAD Ballet examinations up to Advanced 1; with Advanced 2 being the highest level. In November 2017, Miss Jessica completed her CDTA Associate Jazz dance instructor exam allowing her to enter students into CDTA jazz exams and as of August 2018 Miss Jessica has completed two Acrobatic certification courses including Acrobatic Arts. Miss Jessica is in her 5th year studying at the University of Saskatchewan and has completed a Health Studies degree and is completing a degree in Psychology this year. Miss Jessica is very excited to be a part of the Thrive family and cannot wait to share her passion with her students and the rest of the studio.

After an appropriate amount of Ballet is studied, dancers may begin training ā€œen pointeā€. Dancing in toe shoes requires strength and correct body alignment. Dancers must be at least 12 years of age and have instructorā€™s approval.
