Andrew Walker is an experienced ceramic artist, creating hand built contemporary pottery. After completing a Textiles Design degree and working within the interiors styling industry; Andrew ventured back into his love of clay 25 years later.
His work mainly consists of hand built ceramic stoneware vessels, starting out as rolled slabs of black and specialist clay.
‘Inspired by our industrial landscape I take a simple approach to design and form, often combining geometrical shapes to construct vessels that try to bridge the gap between functional and sculptural.’
Andrew now has his own studio in Works 57 Sheffield where he teaches small groups hand building classes using slab, moulded and draped techniques.
Although named 'yoga' this class comes from a fitness tradition, using hammocks slung from the ceiling beams to let you swing, float and fly!
Aerial Yoga for Children classes have a special syllabus designed by the instructor for youth participants
Aerial yoga is a unique technique which uses a low-hanging fabric / hammock to support the weight of the body.
Aerial Yoga is a truly wonderful way to interweave fun into your practice while keeping the soulful elements of yoga very present.
Aerial Yoga draws from the alignment and techniques of yoga, using a low hanging, wide Aerial Sling to aid in moving through traditional yoga postures.
