Throughout the course, you will learn various techniques, including pinch pots, coiling, slab building, surface decoration, and wheel throwing. Our experienced tutors will guide you through tutor demonstrations and provide one-to-one guidance.
Projects will enable you to practice new skills and deepen your knowledge. Learning in a supportive and nurturing environment, you will have the opportunity to explore your creativity and develop as a potter.

This course is suitable for you if you are new to making pottery. You will complete a series of short projects in which you will learn to plan, make and decorate several types of hand built decorative and useful pots. We cover the techniques of pinching, coiling, slab-work and construction.
Welcome to our pottery wheel introduction class! In this 1.5-hour session, you'll learn the basics of creating small bowls and cylinders using the potter's wheel.
We are delighted to have Ellie back with us for a 4 week Evening Course. You'll complete a range of different projects including a pinch pot vase and a s'graffitto dish - learning different skills each week. The cost of the course includes all clay, firing and glazing costs.
Throwing (working on the pottery wheel) is not only a practical skill requiring full concentration but also a meditative process which activates the feel-good system in your brain. This is a skill anyone can learn through practice and good tuition.
Our ongoing pottery classes in London for this five session course continues your previous introduction to throwing clay. It equips you with a sturdy foundation from which to develop as a potter. You are advised to stick with the same tutor throughout.
