The QA Level 3 Award in HACCP for Food Manufacturing (RQF) is ideal for managers and supervisors that are responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of HACCP based food safety management procedures in a food manufacturing environment.
This qualification may also be suitable for owners and managers of small food businesses to help develop their knowledge of HACCP based food safety management procedures.

The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 10 weeks. The total number of hours required for a Learner to achieve this qualification is split over 2 elements:
Guided Learning Hours (GLH) is the time a Learner is being taught and assessed under the immediate guidance of a Trainer/Assessor, which for this qualification is 20 GLH (minimum), and
The number of hours a Learner will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation and study, including
assessment, as directed by, but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of a Trainer, e.g. pre-course reading, which for this qualification is 10 hours

In the food workplaces of today, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) has become a major factor in adhering the standards set out by the FSA. Whoever is made responsible for HACCP in their workplace must be trained in the subject.
This course covers general allergies, food allergies and food intolerances and explains the differences between them.
The new Level 1 Awards in Food Safety are run as half-day courses, suitable for a variety of candidates, including new employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge, employees handling low-risk or wrapped food or those who work front of house.
This qualification is made up of one mandatory unit, the details of which are included at the end of this specification. Learners must successfully complete the assessment for the unit to achieve the qualification.
