You will complete these modules full time during the first year at THASA, and part time during the first half of the second year. During the second year you will start working in a salon to complete the Workplace Modules.

Overall experience
The students are taken step-by-step through all aspects of hairdressing, including salon management, while getting first-hand practical experience of styling, colouring, perming, cutting, bleaching, etc. The course gives the student the necessary skills, training experience and confidence for a career in the hairdressing industry.
Academic support
A student guide will provide the student with detailed information about the programme as well as requirements and procedures during their studies.

Applicants are required to submit the following when applying for the THASA hairdressing course:

Applicants have to be 16 years or older
Learners who wish to enroll have to be in possession of a National Senior Certificate (GR 12) or equivalent qualification. GR 10 is not excluded, but entry will be subjected to an interview.
The course is suitable for those who want to improve their hair styling techniques it will act as a complimentary service that you can provide to clients.
As a make-up artist, you can significantly increase your earning potential by offering hair styling as an added service. This works well for weddings, special events, and photo shoots/ model portfolio shoots (test shoots).
This Level enables learners to develop the skills required to become professional hairdressers. This is the first of three levels of which culminate in a professional hairdressing qualification.
