In Caloundra, all construction workers need a General Construction Induction training card, most commonly known as a White Card.
This nationally accredited course specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required before undertaking construction work and is a tool that ensures the safety of the worker and the surrounding working environment.
This unit requires the worker/ training participant to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to themself and others.
It also covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for appropriately responding to potential incidents and emergencies as well as correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal pre-requisites for the White Card Course in Caloundra
Participants must be at least 13 years of age
Payment is required prior to white card course commencement – see terms and conditions in the student handbook.
100 points of Identification (including valid photo ID) is required
Undertake a language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment before commencing training
White Card participants must wear comfortable clothing & enclosed footwear
Participants must hold a USI – Unique Student Identifier.
