Wood Thumb is the vision of two brothers who set out to build a creative community in San Francisco that embodies craftsmanship and sustainability. We started the woodshop in 2011 making small batches of wood products and selling them to thousands of stores around the country - most notably the wood tie! Now we help thousands of students and hundreds of teams get inspired in the woodshop through woodworking classes and team offsites.
Our training programs are developed so that our carpenters and millwrights meet any challenge or opportunity encountered by our employers.
In this class you will learn the basics of woodworking. You’ll learn how to cut, sand, glue up, and finish. You’ll also be able to take the project home that you begin.
This class is designed to be the core introductory class that covers good studio practices while learning how to safely use all of the equipment and tools in the main woodworking studio. It will also be the primary prerequisite class for most of the more advanced woodworking classes.
Carpentry course is offered by Kids' Carpentry. Kids’ Carpentry Seattle continues the tradition of building confidence and teaching with respect and humor in a safe and happy environment.
Our Denver beginner woodworking classes are for individuals with little or no experience. We start with the basics for all your future woodworking projects. We pick our lumber, mill it to size, glue panels where necessary, and learn a basic but strong method of joinery.
