Note:
Rotorua Music School is a partly government funded, non-profit organisation established in 1986 to provide high quality, low cost music tuition for the people of the Rotorua district. We are administered by a Director appointed by our committee which is made up of parents and students.
We pride ourselves on offering a high quality, affordable introduction to music for predominantly primary school aged children. Our students will learn to read, create, appreciate and because we make our lessons fun, develop a love of music.
We operate out of the Western Heights High School Music Department, after school, weekdays.
Wellington Music Centre is excited to bring music tuition back to Wellington!
Lessons can start at a very young age - if children are ready, as young as three years. However, it is never too late to learn! ?Why not start music as a hobby in retirement?!
It is an instrument that can easily contribute to the school band and lead on later to taking part in woodwind groups and other chamber music groups. Additionally, a student can easily transfer from recorder to flute, clarinet, or saxophone when they’re older.
This provides an excellent introduction to wind instrument techniques. Students may choose to play the recorder only, or as a recorder/fife combination.
The school provides Ministry of Education subsidised group music lessons for primary and intermediate age school students
