There are no pre-requisites or pre-knowledge required to participate in our recreational program. In this program it includes Jazz, Ballet and Hip Hop.

Beginning in the streets of Harlem, New York City, this fast paced, powerful & unique form of dance has now taken the world by storm. Combining funk, jazz, martial arts and acrobatics, hip hop dancing is one of the most freestyle dance forms around.
This class starts off with a strength and style building warm up, moving into routines that you would expect to see in video clips, dance movies, and lie shows.
Hip Hop dance classes are offered by Backstage Dance Academy.
Hip Hop is a street dance style, primarily performed to Hip Hop music,  which has evolved from the Hip Hop culture. It is a commercial dance style, often a seen in music clips and movies, that is fun and energetic, requiring breaking, locking and popping!Â
A less structured and improvisational style. Movements are strong, grounded, connective and coordinated closely with the beats of the music.
