What is Reiki?
Reiki means spiritually guided (REI) life-force energy (KI). It is universal; it works holistically and promotes the body’s regenerative self-healing ability. The practice of Reiki therapy is an original method of healing, developed by Mikao Usui in Japan early in the 20th century. Reiki is non-invasive, and we use it holistically to restore balance in mind, body, and spirit.

Course Content
I will initiate you to both original Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho and Western-style Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho teachings (the best of both worlds) and share with you a prestigious Reiki Lineage, its principles, philosophy, endeavors, and ways to achieve wellbeing and happiness.
Immediately after your first Reiki Empowerment, you will be able to connect with the Universal Life-force Energy consciously at will and gain healing and intuitive abilities. Yay!
You will learn energy exercises to strengthen your resilience and regenerative capacity, special breathing and meditation techniques for aura cleansing, space clearing & purification, stress relief, self-healing, healing others (people, plants & pets – all living things), purifying and infusing energy (bring a bottle of water, your crystals and lucky charms), chakra sensing, healing and activation techniques, and much more, including an introduction to setting up a professional practice.
Learning Outcomes (NOS)
By the end of the course, Reiki therapy students will be able to:
understand and explain the history of their Reiki style/system; their own lineage to Mikao Usui; types of attunement/initiation; how treatment will be given.
explain and demonstrate how to apply the practice of Reiki, including working with Reiki energy; self-treatment; working with possible different recipients of Reiki.
carry out a full Reiki treatment safely and effectively, tailored to the needs of the individual and ensuring the comfort and well-being of the client throughout;
demonstrate how to recognise conditions when referral may need to be made elsewhere;
discuss the different methods of treatment, how these should be used and/or modified for individual clients or situations, and for clients with differing needs;
show an awareness of their own and other’s emotional state and responses and know how to use self-treatment and/or meditation techniques to support their own practice and spiritual development;
describe the potential outcomes of Reiki.
Optional further progression after Reiki Level 1 Certification
You can receive the attunements and learn Reiki just for self-help and informal practice, or become a Reiki healer. It’s fun and life-affirming. After Reiki Level 1 training, most students want to improve their skills or become Reiki therapists, so they sign up to gain Reiki Level 2 Practitioner Certification.
Later on, if you decide to practise within the NHS, you will need to pursue the Reiki Practitioner Diploma training pathway recently designed to meet the highest standards set by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) National Occupational Standards (NOS), and Skills for Health.
Either way, this is the beginning! Taking part in this training is the first step; it awards you with the traditional Reiki Level 1 (Shoden, first teachings) certificate of completion, and you can practice Reiki with confidence.
My Story in Natural Therapies
My background is in humanities and education, with an MA in modern languages and literatures, like my parents’. My focus over the years, however, changed from an intellectual to a more direct contact with what it means to be human.
As a child, I observed my grandmothers pick medicinal herbs and divine, but only discovered the amazing benefits of natural therapies in the late ’90s – early 2000s, about 10 years into a stressful publishing career.
I traded the stress of publishing for the joy of holistic health and wellbeing, and founded this successful professional complementary therapy clinical and teaching practice.
Over the years, I helped thousands of individuals improve their health and wellbeing naturally, and developed synergistic therapy protocols to alleviate and manage stress and pain, depression and anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, and burnout, as well as inflammation and musculoskeletal discomfort.
Through clinical practice, I realised physical health is directly affected, and sometimes determined, by our levels of emotional and mental stress, epigenetics, as well as spiritual needs. We are not just what we ate yesterday!
I create solutions with a focus on restoring my clients’ holistic balance, enabling regeneration, and boosting vitality and longevity. I also believe it is essential to equip them with self-help modalities. Sometimes the personal transformation is so great, that many of my clients become my students, some for personal development and self-care, others for career change.
Passionate about integrative healthcare, I’m on a mission to empower, educate, and support lifestyle changes, to create greater holistic health and wellbeing for my clients through natural therapies and self-care strategies.

Explore All Possibilities
It’s no secret that a growing list of unmet needs widens the effectiveness gap in the NHS. Pain, Anxiety, Sleep dysfunctions, chronic stress, and a whole host of bio-psycho-social unmet needs require attention if we are to improve survivorship and enhance quality of life. These issues have been even more apparent during Covid-19 lockdowns. Current circumstances call for innovative solutions.
We need to expand our care beyond mind-body therapies, and recognise the needs of our soul, and that at the centre of everything is the Human Spirit.
Want to gain a basic understanding of mental health issues
They will create positive connections and increase their self-regulation of attention and personal experiences.
In an ever changing and increasingly more demanding workplace and world, being more skilled at working with your mind and mental states helps things to go better for you, your organisation, your colleagues, clients, family and friends; and mindfulness training is one of the most effective ways of d...
In our course “Mindfulness and Work” we will highlight the benefits of mindfulness and provide tools to enable you to bring formal and informal mindful practice into your professional and personal life.
Mindfulness can help us enjoy the world more and understand ourselves better by changing the way we think, feel and act. It involves developing an ability to become aware of what is happening in the present, moment-by-moment, rather than being on ‘automatic pilot’.
