Description

Autodesk Revit software, designed for Building Information Modeling (BIM), helps construction professionals design, build, and maintain better, more energy-efficient buildings.

 It makes it possible to explore and analyze concepts as well as to preserve the coherence of projects, from design to construction. The purpose of this software is to produce plan books reflecting the entire project.

 

Goals

At the end of this course, the student will be able to model a complete structure (foundation, reinforcement, bridging, beam, joist, column) and produce a plan book with Revit software.

 

The training is very suitable for workers and students in the following fields:

  • Architecture, building mechanics and civil engineering

  • Surveying and topography

  • Project management

  • Construction and estimate

 

Content

Includes 9 modules, 6 directed exercises and 2 group projects

  • Module 1: Getting Started

  • Module 2: Basic Editing Commands

  • Module 3: Modeling of structural elements including foundations, slab, reinforcement, column and steel beam, bracing, roof, etc.

  • Module 4: Drawing, drawing view and 2D detail, printing

  • Module 5: Planning and topography

  • Module 6: Creation of frame/cartridge families, base plate and creation of custom annotation labels

  • Module 7: Intermediate commands, column table creation

  • Module 8: Collaborating with Other Disciplines

  • Module 9: Modeling of concrete structural elements, slab, reinforcement, column and concrete beam, Drawing and printing of the final project

  • Guided Exercise 1: Modifying Objects

  • Guided Exercise 2: Range of View

  • Guided Exercise 3: Table of Columns

  • Guided Exercise 4: Creating a frame/title block family

  • Guided exercise 5: Creating a level bubble

  • Guided Exercise 6: Creating a Baseplate and Footing Family

  • Final Evaluation – Questionnaire

 

Material

The course can be taken with the Revit 2018 or 2019 version or it is possible to download the educational version for free.
