Rumba is a ballroom adaptation of Son Cubano and Bolero (the Cuban genre) and, despite its name, it rarely included elements of Cuban Rumba.
It does include Cuban motions through knee-strengthening, figure-eight hip rotation, and swiveling foot action.
An important characteristic of Rumba is the powerful and direct lead achieved through the ball of the foot.
Join us in our fun, friendly, and safe studio environment.
Our primary aspiration is to provide quality teaching in a relaxed atmosphere - often in the classes we laugh a lot, dance a lot, laugh a lot more, and then learn a lot!
So if you’re willing, we’d be delighted
Our Intro to Dance class is aimed at 5-7 year olds and is a mixture of both tap and jazz, giving the students exposure to both styles of dancing in a fun, no pressure environment.Â
Over the years more teachers have joined Step by Step, bringing their own skills and personalities into the studio.
Cha Cha dance classes are offered by InStep Dance Studio. Â The Cha-Cha-Cha is a coquettish flirt on the dance floor. You even dance it with your eyes. It is joyful, exuberant and sparkling like a bottle of champagne.
The term 'ballroom dancing' is derived from the word ball which in turn originates from the Latin word ballare which means 'to dance' (a ball-room being a large room specially designed for such dances).
