Russian is a phonetic language. There are 6 different cases in Russian language, meaning that the ending of the words varies according to their syntactical function in the sentence. Word order is, therefore, highly flexible.
The Cyrillic alphabet is closely based on the Greek alphabet, with about a dozen additional letters invented to represent Slavic sounds not found in Greek.
Our Russian teachers are well versed in the latest methodology and pedagogy of Russian language teaching, including extensive use of technology. All of them have postgraduate qualifications from Russia, UK and USA and have publications in the areas of Literature and Applied Linguistics.
The MLC offers our students the opportunity to study Russian language and culture in the summer at discounted rates at our partner university - Russian Higher School of Economics, which has branches in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Russian Language Course is Offered by Southsea Language School.
At Simon & Simon we offer a variety of options for Russian training courses. We are able to provide either 1:1 or group sessions, whichever suits your business. With careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, as the students can help each other outside of the session times.
We offer Russian Language classes to children from 4 years and older. The aim of our classes is to nurture the interest in Russian language and culture in our pupils and to encourage the use of Russian language as a language of communication in bilingual children.
With Russian language skills, you will be able to communicate with the more than 250 million people worldwide who speak Russian as their native or second language.
This semester the Language Centre will be offering over 80 classes in 14 different languages. Classes range from Beginners to Post A level and are available in Russian. This semester we will have both online and in person teaching.
