DurationOur schools are purpose-built and provide the ideal environment for learning music. Each teaching studio is equipped with a Steinway-designed piano (Boston or Essex).
We also offer online lessons via Skype, Zoom or FaceTime. Online lessons will be subject to each student’s specific circumstances and situation.
Lessons can commence at any point during the term. We are available for lessons seven days a week (subject to teacher availability). Depending on your instrument of choice and current musical ability, lessons can be 30 minutes (recommended for beginners) or 60 minutes long.
Albany School of Music was founded in 2016 by Grace Liu, Head of Remuera Music Academy (founded in 2013).
Our new campus at Albany is a natural consequence following the success in our Remuera campus. Our students achieve highly in international examinations and have great success in local music competitions throughout Auckland.
We employ highly respected senior professors and teachers to provide our students with the highest level of music education and to help our students to achieve their dreams. Through continuous innovation, Albany School of Music offers inspirational concerts, master classes, foreign music exchanges, short-term intensive courses and school holiday programmes to meet the particular needs of our students. Saxophone lessons are offered by Frank's Music School. In his own teaching, Frank’s focus is on CCM Voice Coaching (Contemporary Commercial Music); Contemporary Guitar/Bass Tutoring & Pop, Rock and Jazz Band Training.
Saxophone classes are offered by Mauao Performing Arts Centre. Education is provided by industry professionals that perform and play within the community.
Most students start learning on the alto saxophone which is the most versatile and has the largest repertoire, but CSM also offers soprano, tenor and baritone saxophones for hire.
Learning an instrument is the brains equivalent of a full body work out. The earlier you start the bigger the benefits. These include increased memory, problem solving and literacy.
