Entry level:
Able to read, write and speak English at proficiency level equivalent to ESS Level 3
Possess a valid driving license; subject to SCDF screening; subject to ISD screening
Participants will learn to:
Explain the 9 classes of hazardous substances and their identifications
Explain the purpose and legislation requirements on the transportation of hazardous material
Understand the roles and responsibilities of the drivers in any emergency
Know the basic principles on the chemistry of fire and be able to operate a fire extinguisher effectively
Participant’s Attire:
Safety Shoes. Proper attire. No short pants and singlet

This course is meant for the drivers involved in the transportation and handling of hazardous materials on Singapore roads.
This course is for anyone whom wish to learn the skills and knowledge to work as a Hazmat Lorry Drivers. In Singapore, transportation of any hazardous materials on the road requires SCDF Hazmat Transport Driver Permit for all drivers.
Respond to Fire and Hazmat Emergency is designed to enable a person to function as a member of a Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) in order to meet and respond to fire and Hazmat emergencies.
Response to Fire & Hazmat Emergency course training is offered by A-Certs for all skill level. The Mission of A-CERTS is to promote continual development, professionalism and excellence in the field of Emergency Response & Crisis Management.
Under the Environmental Protection and Management Act (EPMA), any person who wishes to import, sell or export any controlled hazardous substance must obtain a Hazardous Substances (HS) Licence from the National Environment Agency (NEA).
