During this full day course, you’ll learn everything there is to know about making two or three different types of jewellery out of sterling silver. This workshop focuses mainly on the techniques used, which will allow you to carry on developing your skills confidently.
Along with this, you will also learn some other techniques such as how to make jump rings, other findings and how to create different finishes for your jewellery.
Your tutors Brittany and Andrew will be on hand to show you the optimal techniques and give advice but aside from that you will create everything yourself.
We will have a book of guide projects on hand which you can personalise, as well as adding your own finishes and patterns. You will have the option to create bangles, pendants, rings, earrings, charms and more.
There will be a short break during this workshop in which you can go out to get lunch in one of the plenty of nice cafes around the north dock area. Alternatively, feel free to bring your own lunch.
This class is limited to a maximum of four participants so that you always have a tutor available to help you personally. No previous experience is necessary.
We are Britt and Andrew. Britt’s journey with jewellery making started in 2012 as a hobby which has slowly blossomed into what it is today, Noctua Jewellery & Workshops. Andrew joined Britt in September 2017 helping out with workshops and learning about the business.
For students who have a good knowledge of basic jewellery making techniques wishing to develop their own ideas and improve their skills. Students should have attended jewellery making classes regularly for a year and feel confident to work independently.
This creative course will give you opportunity to learn some basic metalworking skills with which to make jewellery. Study part-time with us and pick up a fun new hobby! We offer both Introduction and Improvers courses in Jewellery Making and Precious Metals.
Enamelling Courses is offered by Alys Power Jewellery. Held at the Nottingham Jewellery School, at the Hartley Business Centre in Carrington, Nottingham this is a six week class in enamelling, focussing on dry sifted kiln enamel
This one-day self-directed workshop will provide you with the opportunity to create a small project of your choice or refurbish an existing project item – all with the guidance and expertise of the tutor.
Students will begin by looking into the basic tools, workshop health and safety, at best practices for the use of equipment and workshop awareness.
