Are you ready to prepare for one of the fastest-growing employment areas in the nation? Seattle Culinary Academy offers classroom instruction with plenty of hands-on training to help you excel in the food and hospitality industry as well as a variety of related fields.
Your training will help open doors to exciting opportunities in the best restaurants in the region, as well as catering companies, culinary tours, test kitchens, hotels, food writing, and food styling – to name just a few. Beyond restaurant jobs, graduates use their new skills as a foundation to pursue a wide array of potential career paths and disciplines.
We’ll teach you how to make a soft, fluffy white bread, cheddar biscuits and scones – flavors will vary – blueberry, ginger, orange, etc. Whatever we’re in the mood for that day!
Learn how to make our "Simply Sourdough" -- a great starter loaf-- and leave with our century old starter, "Green Valley Simple Leavening" and care instructions.
Master new baking techniques and always have homemade bread just a recipe away. In this class, we cover the essentials, from working with yeast and mixing dough to the importance of proofing.
Homemade bread is at once the most simple and most intimidating challenge home cooks face. It may seem like magic when flour, water, salt, and yeast come together to make everyone's favorite food, but in this hands-on class, we'll demystify the art of making bread.
