Civic Dance Arts Adult Beginner Tap 1A - Have you always wanted to dance but never tried, or used to dance and now want to get back into it? If so, come join our tap class.

You will learn basic taps steps through warm ups, dancing across the floor and finishing off with a combination set to music. Tap shoes and proper dance attire required.

  • Alexis has danced with San Diego Civic Dance Arts for 15 years and is now a 3rd generation dance teacher for the program. At age 3 her first dance class was taught by her grandmother, Dana Daly at Cabrillo Rec. Alexis has been a part of T-troupe for 2 years and Company for 5, getting to work with Mia Michaels, Daniel Lewis, Maud Arnold, and Kirby and Beverly Ward. Aside from dancing with SDCDA, Alexis has taken classes as part of Step n' Time Dance Studio's small competition team. In High school she participated heavily in technical theater and performed in the production Once upon a Mattress. Alexis was also active in Cheer and Gymnastics, being named Varsity captain for both teams, as well as being rewarded Gymnast of the Year for Districts Valley League Finals:2017. Alexis has had many teaching and choreographing experiences in and outside the program but is very excited to be new to staff and to show the company what she has to offer!
