This program emphasizes accurate rhythms, clear sounds and a thorough knowledge of tap terminology. These classes do perform in our end of year Spring Show.
Academy of Dance has been open under the direction and ownership of Jacquie Franz since 2001. In the spring of 2009, Academy of Dance moved to its current location, offering classes for two year old's and up.

Whether you are a beginner tapper or a true Hoofer, tap classes at Peridance Center will have you making music with your feet! All of our tap faculty are active performers in and outside of New York City and teach styles ranging from Broadway techniques, Hoofing, Rhythms.
Learn the basic vocabulary of tap, rhythms, weight changes, balance, foot articulation, shuffles, flaps and time steps. Dance to the tunes of Broadway Shows and lively tap tunes. Enjoy music of the 40’s, as well as original music by Marion and Lorraine Lundstrum.
This class teaches rhythm, coordination, and a continued introduction to tap fundamentals and terminology.
