With its infectious rhythms and lively music, tap dancing is popular with students of all ages. Tap dance relies on unique shoes that have metal “taps” attached to the heels and toes. This art form draws inspiration from other disciplines like Irish dance and African tribal dance to create something that is unique, challenging and fun to learn.

Well-known names like Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, Gregory Hines and Savion Glover are all recognized as innovators who have inspired young dancers across the years. Movie stars like Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly added ballroom dancing and balletic movements to the traditional tap aesthetic.
Tap classes at DanceHouse Miami reflect all of these influences as well as covering rhythm and contemporary tap techniques. Students offer high-energy performances at annual recitals, and no one should miss out on the fun of this quintessentially American style of dance.
Dancehouse is dedicated to developing talent at both the recreational and competition level. We provide a solid foundation for dance and help every student to discover their strengths and to reach their own personal potential.
Dancehouse uses state of the art floating floors with Marley sheet overlays to prevent students from injury while providing the ultimate in dance comfort. Dancehouse offers Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Ballroom and Acrobatics. We accept students ages 3-18.
This class teaches tap technique for adults of all levels. Class will run mid-August through mid-May. Participants do not require specific dancewear. Oxford-style dance shoes are recommended.
Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap
This course draw from both the Broadway and the contemporary Rhythm-Tap styles and begin with a foot isolating warm-up, followed by rhythm and step-based skill building in both the center of the room and moving across the floor.
Tap Dance Classes are offered by Wissahickon Dance Academy. The school’s curriculum meets the needs of the casual dancer as well as the dancer on track for a professional career.
Tapp Dance Classes are offered by EVQ Elite Dance Studio.
