Course Details

This program teaches participants how to identify hazardous products, control hazards from these products, and safely handle controlled products.TDG regulations are designed to improve public safety when dangerous goods are being handled, offered for transport, or transported by air.

They are a set of rules that set safety standards and shipping requirements for hazardous goods. The regulations also provide a means of communicating the nature and level of danger associated with chemicals by means of placards and hazard symbols.

Safety Services Manitoba’s TDG training provides students with the most current legislative information including industry best practices. This course includes a written assessment to validate training competencies.

Participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of this course.

Legislation

Manitoba Regulation

Anyone involved in handling, offering for transport or transporting dangerous goods by air must be TDG trained. This includes Shippers, Receivers, and those who load and offload dangerous materials.

35.3(1) an employer must ensure that a worker who works with or near a controlled product or performs work involving the manufacture of a controlled product receives training in the following.

  • a) The content required to be on a supplier label and a workplace label and the purpose and significance of the information on the label;
  • b) The content required to be on a material safety data sheet and the purpose and significance of the information on the material safety data sheet;
  • c) Procedures for safely storing, using and handling the controlled product; etc.
