You will produce both still and moving image for different purposes including film, animation, and sound recording.
Entry requirements
You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English, or a Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design at Merit or above. Maths GCSE can be retaken alongside this course. You are also required to bring an attendance report and/or a reference from your previous tutor/school.
Delivery and Assessment
The delivery of the course is designed to develop your visual communication skills, your application of practical techniques and processes, as well as your understanding of historical and contextual art practices.
The course is assessed through projects and sketchbook work. There are deadlines for assignments throughout the course, which you will need to meet to continue and gain the qualification.
Progression Opportunities
Successful completion of the Diploma leads students onto the full two-year Extended Diploma course in Photography. This provides a pathway for students looking to study at HE level, and/or pursue a career in photography. You will be advised and supported in your UCAS applications with help on appropriate routes and portfolio preparation.

We offer full-time courses for school leavers including A Levels and vocational qualifications, full-time Access to Higher Education courses, part-time adult professional development, entry level and recreational courses as well as full and part-time degree level study.
This two-day course will cover the principles and theory of photographic lighting and relate these to the studio environment by practical demonstration and hands on application.
The UAL Level 2 Award in Photography is a 10-week course for adult learners to get more out of their DSLR camera. This course adopts a blended approach to learning with two 3-hour sessions per week, one of which is optional and online.
Take your photography further on our HNC Photography course and start telling your story with images. Our HNC Photography course, which is the first year of an HND, is your chance to build experience and discover areas of photography you may never have considered.
