Where: You'll begin by learning how to set up your camera for portrait and action shots, then you'll have two photo sessions with advice from one of our experienced tutors throughout.
Souter Lighthouse provides a truly unique venue for our beginners photography workshops. Located on the A183 coast road at Whitburn, the lighthouse remains an iconic beacon hooped in red and white, standing proud on the coastline midway between the Tyne and the Wear.
We run our beginners and intermediate courses here and ocassionally introduction to landscapes. We also run our beginners courses and more at Preston Park Museum, Stockton on Tees.
This course is structured around four Units of which 3 are mandatory and two are external over a two year study programme. These units present an opportunity for the learner to explore traditional and contemporary photographic materials, techniques and processes.
The specialist units covered in this program will begin to prepare you with skills required to develop careers within the photography and related industries, as well as provide a pathway into Higher Education to further your studies.
You will get an introduction to your camera’s manual controls, focusing on how to control aperture, shutter speed and ISO to correctly expose your photographs.
The field of Food & Product Photography opens up a great number of possibilities for photographers aiming to extend their expertise and career opportunities. Commercial and Stock Photography is a demanding and ever changing market and keeping up with new trends is essential.
The course seeks to give you an introduction to some of the main themes explored in contemporary photography including landscape, documentary, commercial and experimental approaches.
