Sree Thyagaraja School of Music & Dance (STSMD) is a century old Music Institution situated in Punalur city in the Kollam district of the southern Indian.

The earliest veenaa was an instrument of the harp type whose type survives in the Burmese harp, whereas in the last centuries and nowadays, the word has tended to be applied to instruments of the lute type or even, recently, to certain kinds of guitars developped in India.
Veena classes are based on the Indian classical approach to music teaching. The Students learn the Indian style of music which is a very ancient Indian style of music. Students in our institution learn Carnatic Vocal music.
