They are taught by experienced teachers who are highly trained professional musicians. About once a month students have the opportunity to take part in group lessons to learn how to play in a group.
Our teachers believe that all children are musical and can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat and participate in the music of our culture, provided their early environment supports such learning.
Merry Music Makers offers research-based curriculum, so we know our stuff. But getting silly and engaging our students is part of our secret sauce!
Our Mission:
As a community of music makers, we aim to bring more joy into the world by making it more musical one family at a time. We do this by providing the highest-quality early childhood music and movement education to children and their caregivers.
Our teachers have experience with all ages and levels of string students, and have been teaching private lessons for over six years. Lessons cover mainly classical music using several different method books, including Suzuki and Essential Elements
Violin Lessons are offered by Portland Music Collective. Most music schools have “faculty.” At Portland's only music education cooperative, we call our music teachers Cooperative Teaching Artists (CTAs).
Age 3 is the ideal age to begin violin, but child as young as 2 can start! Parent and child are able to listen to music together. Follow 1 or 2 part instructions.
Our string department at Parallel Sound is small but mighty. We are fortunate to have such a solid violin and viola lessons teacher in along with cello teacher . All are highly qualified and dedicated, and work with students of all ages in their lessons studios
Violin Lessons are offered by New York Conservatory of Music. You may begin your lessons at the New York Conservatory of Music whenever you wish.
