Parents are invited to contribute to the governance of Saturday Music Charitable trust by serving as an appointed Trustee or as a co-opted Parent Representative. Parent Representatives must have a child enrolled in Saturday Music as a condition of acting in this role. Both roles are necessary for the continuing function of the Board.
Saturday Music Charitable Trust (Inc) is a registered charity (CC29243) and is supported by the Primary School Out-of-Hours Music Scheme of the Ministry of Education. It is administered by a Trust Board and is hosted by Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School, operating under the regulations of the Ministry of Education.

Founded in 2006, we are the largest music academies in Auckland, with several branches throughout the city. With our programs varying from private lessons for all instruments to group piano and guitar classes.
Violin Course is Offered by Upper Hutt Music Centre. The Upper Hutt Music Centre is a non-profit organisation. UHMC is a NZ Ministry of Education out of hours music education program for primary aged children.
The Howick School of Music offers lessons for:  Violin, Piano, Cello, Viola, Double Bass, Harp, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Bassoon,  Trumpet, Trombone, Horn, Guitar, Drum-kit, Recorder and Music for 5-6 year olds.
Once a student has been learning for two or three years they can join a local children’s orchestra, and other ensembles. The violin is not just a classical instrument, but is popular in gypsy and folk groups as well as being included in some rock and pop bands.
