The HSSM Faculty is comprised of professional musicians, all of whom are highly qualified and Suzuki-trained. All HSSM teachers are members of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
The HSSM is a charitable, not-for-profit organization registered with the Canada Revenue Agency and governed by a Board of Governors made up of elected teachers, parents and interested community members. The Board sets policies and governs the general operations of the School.
Since 1980, the Hamilton Suzuki School of Music has been a leading education force in the community – a role that is enhanced even now, by the many community events we are involved in.
Many of our students are award winners in local festivals and Royal Conservatory of Music examinations and some have even gone on to post-secondary music studies and are choosing careers as Suzuki educators.
Whatever their choice of careers, past Suzuki students cite their music education as a valuable experience, recognizing that the benefits have reached well beyond the ability to play an instrument.

The HSSM offers instrumental music instruction in violin, viola, cello, piano, classical guitar, harp, flute and Early Child Music Education.
The HSSM offers Early Childhood music education. Designed with age-appropriate curriculum, the ECE program introduces parents and children newborn to 3 years of age to Suzuki education.
At the age of 3 (although some children are not ready until a little older), the child is ready to switch to learning an instrument.
The Hamilton Suzuki School of Music is a registered charitable organization. Tax receipts can be given for donations to the school.
