Course Details

The Welding Techniques program equips students with core welding skills, knowledge, and qualifications necessary to launch a career in welding.

The program provides practical, hands-on welding skill development in multiple welding processes where students learn practical welding skills aimed at earning up to six (6) industry-recognized Welder Qualifications/Certifications (CWB/TSSA). The theoretical component includes welding fundamentals and basic blueprint reading.

Graduates will receive an Ontario Career College Certificate and can present proof of up to six (6) industry-recognized Welder Qualifications/Certifications (CWB/TSSA) to prospective employers.

Included Courses:

  • SMAW     Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick) – 200 hours
  • GMAW     Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) – 40 hours
  • FCAW      Flux-Cored Arc Welding – 20 hours
  • GTAW      Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) – 40 hours
  • BP1         Basic Blueprint Reading – 30 hours
  • WTF        Welding Theory Fundamentals – 50 hours

  • CWB - SMAW 2G (Horizontal)
  • CWB - SMAW 3G (Vertical) - Optional
  • CWB - SMAW 4G (Overhead) - Optional
