About Us

Leslie and Nona are a mother-daughter yarn slinging duo. Both have been crafting all their lives, and are loving the fiber community they have created at All Wound Up.

Leslie worked in the corporate world for over 35 years prior to owning All Wound Up. She worked in freight and the fishing industry, wearing many hats in those years, and each contributing to the running of All Wound Up.

Leslie has always loved crafts. In addition to knitting, she also makes soap, has created fused glass and leaded glass works of art, makes jewelry, gardens and keeps bees. She also loves dogs, and hasn't been without a beloved canine in many decades. She and her husband Rick live in Seaview.

Nona grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Fond childhood memories include kayaking Lake Union, walks and bike rides around Greenlake, and attempting to sell her handmade beaded necklaces and woven potholders to the neighbors.

Her entrepreneurial spirit continued into adolescence and then adulthood. After she married her high school sweetheart Dave, Nona sold stamps and scrapbook paper for a direct sales company. She gave that up in 2011 and began designing knitwear and sewing for craft shows, farmer's markets and expos. Nona stopped doing shows when AWU opened, but has continued designing and sewing. She has over 140 patterns on Ravelry, and makes project bags for the shop!

Now in our 8th year of business, Leslie and Nona feel enthusiastic and joyful with the yarn community we've created with our wonderful customers! We love showcasing the talents of Indie Dyers, and local artisans. And we've worked hard to bring you unique yarns, many that are exclusive in this area to our shop!

We hope that you will stop by the shop, and become a part of our family of fiber enthusiasts who gather often. We have classes, free social knitting and crochet times, beautiful yarn, and so many inspiring projects to show you!

Hitofude Cardigan Knit Along?

Description Over the last 10 years, Hitofude has come up in conversation again and again. It's long been on our "to knit list", and many of you have requested help with its unusual construction. We have often heard that those who knit it often make it more than once.
