Miriam Milord

Founder/Creative Director

Miriam was born and raised in Germany in a Ghanaian/German family and made Brooklyn, NY her home in 2000. Miriam worked as a designer for a prominent art gallery her first years in NYC. She started to bake creative cakes for friends and family for their special events in her spare-time.

Her inventive designs and delicious cakes began to attract a lot of attention, leading to the decision in 2009 to go into the custom cake business full-time. Miriam decided to give her fellow New Yorkers a slice of her talent and started BCakeNY (from BKNY for Brooklyn New York).

Her delicious creations reflect her taste for a moist cake that has just the right amount of sweetness. Her designs are influenced by the diverse art, people, and cultures of Brooklyn!

Dara Roach

CEO

Before arriving at BCakeNY, Dara began her career as a television producer at a national network before transitioning to digital media and most recently to marketing and business operations in the area of finance.

Entrepreneurism and creativity has aways been a part of her DNA, apprenticing at her father’s music management business, and the first African American book club founded by her mother. Joining BCakeNY is an amazing opportunity to bring her business, digital and creative experience to a premium retail brand.

Dara works with the BCakeNY team to optimize production, product development, marketing, operations and sales, including the relaunch of the ecommerce business.
