History

The Academy of Medical Assistants was founded in 2005 to provide quality education and excellence in clinical skills for students aspiring to become medical assistants and to meet the hiring demands within the medical community. In 2009, the college relocated from La Jolla to Pacific Beach and changed its name to California Medical College. Along with the change of ownership, the programs offered were expanded and the following additional national certifications were added. Medical Assistant, Medical Office Administration, Patient Care Technician, EKG Technician and Pharmacy Technician.

In March of 2011, California Medical College was approved to offer a Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide Training Program.California Medical College is licensed to operate by the Bureau for Private and Post Secondary Education, B.P.P.E. as well as the California Department of Health. National Certifications are approved by N.C.C.T. and N.H.A.
