About Us
Founded in 1975, Collingham is an independent, co-educational College that runs from year 9 through to Sixth Form. Our aim is to enable individuals to discover their strengths, set their own goals and develop their potential and confidence.
At the same time, we are uncompromising in our commitment to academic standards, personal integrity and the development of a sense of responsibility. We provide expert tuition, a clear structure of work and a supportive environment.
There are about two hundred students at Collingham, from different backgrounds and across the ability range. Most of our students are between 13 and 19 years of age and those who join for GCSE generally continue on to A Levels. We do also offer online tuition (please follow the links for more dedicated information).
Collingham is located in the heart of Kensington over-looking a beautiful garden square. Our proximity to world-class institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum, Imperial College and the Natural History Museum means students have access to unparalleled cultural and academic resources.
Formerly Gibbs’ Preparatory School, the large Arts and Crafts town house has been in educational use for over one hundred years. It has seen pass through its doors the likes of Robert Kennedy, Lord Snowden, Prince Edward, Viscount Linley, and even Christopher Robin Milne, AA Milne’s son and inspiration for the British classic, Winnie the Pooh.
Collingham is a member of The Council for Independent Further Education (CIFE) and we are an ISA school.
Collingham provides a professional, safe and personalised learning environment in central London. In other words, we have the best attributes of a small country school delivered in a vibrant and cultured urban setting.
A Level physical education encourages students to immerse themselves in the world of sports and PE with the chance to perform or coach a sport. Students will be equipped with both a depth and breadth of knowledge, understanding and skills relating to scientific, socio-cultural and practical aspects
