Overview

The Construction Education Foundation was founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to construction industry workforce development in Colorado.

Funded by industry partners, government grants, private and public support, CEF creates workforce development opportunities through education, training programs, and scholarships. CEF’s efforts lead to sustainable pathways toward great careers in construction for both high school students and adults. 

 

Mission

Our mission is to recruit, develop, and serve students of the construction industry by promoting innovative educational pathways to rewarding careers in an inclusive, highly-skilled and prosperous construction workforce.

 

Goals

  • Help place 45,000 skilled trades workers by 2027
  • Build and enhance coalitions within the educational community, governmental agencies, and the private sector
  • Build awareness of the many rewarding career opportunities in our industry
  • Funnel young people into programs designed to prepare them to enter the workforce
  • Continue to promote integration of Career Technical Education (CTE) into our public education system, including construction technology
  • Continue to promote and support diversity within our construction industry
  • Meet the demand for sustained annual support dollars for construction workforce development programs

Fall Hazard Awareness for the Construction Industry

This course covers the identification, evaluation, prevention and control of fall hazards in the construction industry. The course focuses on falls to a lower level rather than falls to the same level resulting from slips and falls. Course topics include identifying, analyzing, and preventing fall.

Occupational Noise Exposure Hazards

This course focuses on describing noise hazards in the workplace.   The course includes; OSHA occupational noise exposure standards, properties of sound, noise-induced hearing loss, noise exposure control, selection and use of hearing protection, sound level surveys, noise dosimetry.

This course covers the development and implementation of controls and strategies to prevent or mitigate silica exposures in construction, maritime, and general industries.
