In small portion of Bexar County’s North West side resided a small rural community of farmers and ranchers. This small settlement was being watched over by the Helotes Area Volunteer Fire Department beginning in 1959.
This department relied solely on the locals who volunteered their time to protect those in their community. This department helped protect not only those who lived in Helotes but those who lived in the surrounding areas as well.
Fire Safety training is offered by District 7 Fire and Rescue for all skill level.Â
